Well … With the temperatures going into the two digit ranges during the afternoons, is it time to start the Sunday rides? Some of us are still skiing but I would think that some keeners might be heading out for a first Beeeee ride this Sunday (March 25). 10am Bean Scene?? Let me know what you think and post a comment!

One of our fellow cyclists has been contacted by the Kelowna RCMP to find out if any cyclists were riding on Commonage Road on mid afternoon on August 14, 2011. The request is in regards to seeing any suspicious vehicles that afternoon, as the RCMP is investigating the shooting at The Grand. Please reply to Const. Albrecht if you or anyone you know has any info on this.

Michael is organizing a Ride Around the Lake (about 150 km) on Monday, September 5. This ride will go ahead weather permitting. Meet at the Bean Scene at 07:00 am or 07:30 am on the West side at Nancee Rd./Hwy.97.
Bring enough water and food; the first store is at about 60 km.
For those of you who missed the first Green Mountain Ride (or even those who made it), there will be another one happening on July 23. Some of us will be away for the weekend but there will be a great group of people going on this one. As always, it’s about 90 km, bring plenty food and fluids, money to replenish at Twin Lakes Golf Course and lunch afterwards, and sunscreen.
Meet as usual at 8am at Starbucks on the Westside (by Zellers) to carpool; start at 9am from Skaha Parking Lot.

Our first Green Mountain Ride will be Saturday, June 25. As you know, this ride has been a favorite for many years now! It is a challenging 90km ride, lots of hills but also wonderful scenery.
Meet at 8am at the “old” Starbucks (across from Zellers) in West Kelowna, or at 9am at the Skaha Lake parking lot in Penticton. Bring plenty of fluids and food; the first and only stop that has food is the golf course at Twin Lakes (about 47km or 2hrs into the ride).
Watch this space for a cancellation due to weather – This will be posted no later than 6am on the day of the ride.

Much to Joyce’s dismay, Cafe Artigiano (the start of the Westside ride up until now) has closed.
The Westsiders will meet instead at Starbucks by the movie theatre on Fridays at 09:00am, for the West Kelowna Friday ride from now on.
