Hi,

some of us would like to go on a Green Mountain ride on Sunday Oct. 02. Weather permitting !!!!!

It is about 90 km, bring fluids and food. Replenish at Twin Lakes Golf Course.

Meet at 8:00 at Starbucks in West Kelowna (by Zellers) to carpool, start at 9:00 from Skaha Parking Lot in Penticton.

Did you cycle Commonage Road?

One of our fellow cyclists has been contacted by the Kelowna RCMP to find out if any cyclists were riding on Commonage Road on mid afternoon on August 14, 2011. The request is in regards to seeing any suspicious vehicles that afternoon, as the RCMP is investigating the shooting at The Grand. Please reply to Const. Albrecht if you or anyone you know has any info on this.

Around The Lake Ride

Michael is organizing a Ride Around the Lake (about 150 km) on Monday, September 5. This ride will go ahead weather permitting. Meet at the Bean Scene at 07:00 am or 07:30 am on the West side at Nancee Rd./Hwy.97.

Bring enough water and food; the first store is at about 60 km.

Sorry but we won’t make it to Penticton tomorrow for the Green Mtn Ride. Michael seems to have spread around his cold so not up for the long ride. I haven’t heard from anybody directly that they were coming anyway so enjoy your weekend with whatever cycling you have planned …

Whistler Gran Fondo Entries

I’ve two registrations to the Whistler Gran Fondo, one medio and one fondo. We really enjoyed it last year, but can’t attend this year. The registrations were $270 each (with the tax) and there’s a $50 transfer fee for each registration. Make me an offer. Heather 250-762-2452

Green Mountain Ride #2

For those of you who missed the first Green Mountain Ride (or even those who made it), there will be another one happening on July 23. Some of us will be away for the weekend but there will be a great group of people going on this one. As always, it’s about 90 km, bring plenty food and fluids, money to replenish at Twin Lakes Golf Course and lunch afterwards, and sunscreen.

Meet as usual at 8am at Starbucks on the Westside (by Zellers) to carpool; start at 9am from Skaha Parking Lot.

Green Mountain Ride #1 for 2011

Great ride! Thanks to all who came with us (13 altogether)!

Our first Green Mountain Ride will be Saturday, June 25. As you know, this ride has been a favorite for many years now! It is a challenging 90km ride, lots of hills but also wonderful scenery.

Meet at 8am at the “old” Starbucks (across from Zellers) in West Kelowna, or at 9am at the Skaha Lake parking lot in Penticton. Bring plenty of fluids and food; the first and only stop that has food is the golf course at Twin Lakes (about 47km or 2hrs into the ride).

Watch this space for a cancellation due to weather – This will be posted no later than 6am on the day of the ride.

Just a reminder that the Westsiders are doing their regular Friday ride even next week when the holiday falls on the Friday (July 1). For those of you who don’t have to work on that day (and can’t usually make the Friday ride due to work), it’s a great opportunity to see what the ride is all about and why those Westsiders are all such strong riders …. PS Expect hills! Meet at 9am at Starbucks across from Zellers (by the movie theatre).
