First Green Mountain Ride of 2012 – May 5

We will be doing one of our favorites, the Green Mountain ride, this coming Saturday, May 5, leaving from Skaha Lake parking lot in Penticton at 9am. We will also meet at Starbucks in West Kelowna (the new one on Louie Drive in Governor’s Market) at 8am to carpool to Penticton. The ride is about 90km long.

This won’t be a “race”, just a chance to get some more distance in on quiet and scenic roads.

Please bring food, drinks and an extra layer for the downhill from Apex. Refuelling stop will be at Twin Lakes Golf course.

The weather forecast looks good but we will make the final “Go/No Go” decision at 6:30am on Saturday morning and post the final word to the blog at http://kelownakillerbeez.com/

Special Westside Ride

This coming Friday, May 4, the Westsiders are taking their weekly ride to Summerland. If you would like to join them for a 55-60km ride, please meet at Starbucks (the new West Kelowna one in Governor’s Market, 2231 Louie Drive) at 9am to carpool. If you are up for even more distance, meet at 7:40am at Starbucks to cycle to Summerland (40km one way). Any questions, contact Michael at malkowsky@shaw.ca

Update on Beez Ride starting times

The first “real” Beez ride of the season, with lots of new and familiar faces, was a lot of fun! Looks like summer is here and we can start planning the cycling season.

Next Sunday, April 29, will be the last ride with a start time of 10am. Starting May 6, we will be leaving the Bean Scene downtown at 9am.

Please also remember the other rides around town: The social/easy Wednesday ride (about 90min, from Good Earth coffee shop, leave at 5pm); Kelowna Cycle’s Saturday Panini Ride (9:15am from their Sutherland location) and the Westside ride (Fridays, 10am, from the new Starbucks; 9am starting May).
