Reminder: Killer Beez Arm Warmers

Everybody was excited when we discussed potential Beez gear for 2018 … thank you to those who emailed me … but sadly I have heard from only a few so far 🙁

Now that we have the design and arrangements, I need more orders to make it worthwhile! Remember that the price is about half of what they cost in the store …

Please see the original post below for details:

It has been a long while since we ordered Killer Beez jerseys … and after a  recent post-ride discussion, we decided to offer a new item this year: Arm warmers!

As per the picture below, they are uniquely designed with the previous bee mascot but neutral in colour to go with any jersey. They can be worn to keep the warmth in or the sun out, and have a silicone strip to stay in place.

They will be very competitively priced at $15 per pair (no tax). If you would like to order, please email me with the number of pairs and sizes. This is a great gift for yourself, children who cycle, wives/husbands who run or friends who ski! There is no such thing as an “official Beez member” so anybody is welcome to order and wear them with pride.

Sizing: Small fits a Joyce or Biggi. Medium fits Mel or Michael. Large fits Graham or Bob. If you need exact measurements, here are the narrow (wrist)/wide (arm) openings for each size:

  • Small: 136mm/230mm
  • Medium: 156mm/255mm
  • Large: 176mm/280mm

Please email me at biggi07@hotmail.com to order. Will figure out distribution later …

Register your bike!

It’s Bike to Work week, and with the current focus on cycling, various organizations are encouraging you to register your bike online to help in case of theft.

It’s quick and easy: Go to project529.com and save information about your bike that will be critical in case of theft … color/model, serial number, value, pictures, etc. Add as much or as little as you want (keep in mind what will be helpful if the bike disappears for police and insurance).

Over 2000 Okanagan residents have already done so (including me). Bike theft sucks but if the police and insurance have enough information, it can often have a good ending!

Big White Pre Ride

Supplied by Big White Ski Resort:

Back by popular demand!  In advance of our Village to Village Road Ride in July, we will once again, be hosting a casual ride up to the resort on Sunday, June 24th

Check out the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/311278555964866 and feel free to share and invite your friends to join in.

It is recommended if you want to take part in this ride, you register through the link here: http://www.bigwhite.com/lalpe-de-grand-blanc-free-pre-ride .  Once you do, I will have a means to  communicate updates via email.

Our route on Strava http://www.strava.com/routes/9271118 starts from our corporate offices at 1894 Ambrosi Road in Kelowna.  There is lots of parking in the back, which is where we will stage the riders briefing and fueling station.  Keep a close eye on the signs for parking in the area as the city loves to tag errantly parked cars.

Schedule of events:

  • 8:000am – Espresso and pre ride conversation, waiver signing
  • 8:30am – Riders briefing and neutral start shortly thereafter (rules of the road)
  • 11:30am – Arrival in the resort.  Some will be earlier than others
  • 12:30pm – Regroup for ride to town at 12:30
  • 2pm – Riders return back at office

As you are our guests for this one, we will have some light snacks, hydration, and tools/shop supplies available at the start and in the resort.  It is highly recommended that every rider plans to be self supported with nutrition and be prepared  with tubes and mechanical supplies on the road.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out directly.   I’m looking forward to meeting up with everyone on the 24th.

Cheers,

Trevor
