As responsible cyclists we need to adhere to rules of the road. In Kelowna that means not riding 2 abreast in a bike lane or on streets without bike lanes within the Kelowna city limits.
Kelowna bylaws state that a person operating a cycle:
- must, ride as near as practical to the right side of a highway, within a bicycle path if available.
- must not ride abreast of another person operating a cycle on the highway.
These bylaws override the Motor Vehicle Act and are the regulations we must abide by on our rides. Thanks to Mike Wagstaff for bringing this to our attention.
