THANKS!

Ski season has started so I wanted to say thanks to all the Beez that came out to hike with us this “shoulder” season! See you on the ski trails!

Many of us go to ski at Nordic both weekend days on a regular basis so hopefully we see some of you there (we usually start skiing at 10am). Nordic also has wonderful snowshoe trails, if you don’t ski. Having a hot drink at the cabin after is always a great reward!

Hike for Sunday, November 17: Okanagan Mountain Park –
Boulder Trail and Wildhorse Canyon Trail

The starting point for Sunday’s hike is the parking lot for Okanagan Mountain Park on Lakeshore Road:

The hike will be roughly 9km with some climbing in the beginning but also great views over the lake.

Meet at the Bean Scene on Dickson at 9am to carpool (25min drive to the trailhead).

Bring some water and snacks.

Ready for Hiking November!

After a wonderful potluck at Pam and Shaun’s house, we enjoyed the first Beez hike of the fall season in the sunshine up Spion Kop! We always make the best of the gap between cycling and skiing!

Check Geoff’s RELIVE here …

The plans for our 4 November hikes are as follows:

Every November Sunday:

Meet at Bean Scene – Dickson at 9am for coffee. All hikes start at 10am. Meet us there if it makes no sense to drive to the coffee shop first (e.g. West Kelowna). We always try to carpool from the coffee shop.

The hikes happen in ALL weather conditions :) (i.e. bring a warm jacket, gloves, a hat if it’s cold or wet!).

Schedule:

November 3: Mel’s Mt Baldy Hike (meet here)

November 10: Keith’s Angel Springs Hike (meet here)

November 17: TBD – contact me with suggestions …

November 24: Shaun’s Rose Valley Hike (meet here)

Party Reminder! Please make sure to show up!

The tradition continues:
Our end-of-season party will be hosted, yet again, by Pam and Shaun!

On October 25, starting at 6pm, we will be meeting at the Horan’s at 6-2155 Horizon Drive in West Kelowna. A great chance to socialize and see everybody without lycra!

At the gate, press 6 on the key pad so we can let you in!

BYOB and food item of your choice from the following list:

  1. Appetizer
  2. Vegan entree
  3. Entree
  4. Salad
  5. Dessert

Email Pam at horan7@shaw.ca and let her know if you will be attending and what you will be bringing from the above list!

For the 4 Sundays in November (3/10/17/24) we are again planning hikes in the Kelowna area. Watch the blog for details!
