This Saturday (April 12th), we will be hiking the Scenic Canyon on the Mission Creek Greenway. The hike will start at 10 AM sharp from the Scenic Canyon parking lot.
Join us to enjoy beautiful views of Mission Creek and Layer Cake Mountain.
The Wednesday Group Ride will start this Wednesday (April 9th) at 10 AM from the Rail Trail in the Parkinson Recreation Centre parking lot. This is a relaxed and moderate paced ride to the Airport and back.
The Friday Group Ride will start this Friday (April 11th) at 10 AM from Pritchard Park, West Kelowna. Led by Michael Malkowski, this is a hilly, moderate to fast paced ride.
Hikes will be scheduled for Saturday mornings during the month of April with Saturday group rides commencing in May.
This is your last reminder to register for the Armstrong Century Ride tomorrow (Monday, April 7th) starting at 6 AM. The ride is usually fully booked by 8 AM, so don’t delay if you want to participate.
The Killer Beez cycling season will officially start at 10 AM on Sunday, April 6th from the Bean Scene on Dickson Road. A waiver must be signed in order to participate in all Killer Beez group rides. Click here to access and sign a waiver that will cover you for all Killer Beez regularly scheduled, weekly rides during 2025.
An additional waiver will need to be signed to join each special ride that will occur during the season. This will be provided prior to each event.
Please be aware that many of the high traffic streets and roads have not yet been swept clean of gravel and other debris. For example, the shoulders of Valley Road (north end particularly), John Hindle (use bike path) and Old Vernon Road are not the best. So consider yourselves warned and be safe out there and also avoid flats.
For those wanting some hill practice, all Dilworth Mountain roads have be swept several times and are in pristine condition (some City of Kelowna executives must live there).
If anyone knows of a clean, safe route to East or South Kelowna from the Bean Scene, please bring it with you to the Sunday Ride. Otherwise we will probably ride the Rail Trail to the Airport and back.

Spring is here and it’s time we did some hiking. Therefore on Saturday, April 5th we will hike Mount Baldy in Kelowna. This is a hike many of us have done before and offers great views of Kelowna and the Glenmore valley.
The hike will start at 10 AM sharp from Glacier Court where parking is available. Click here for the starting point.

Consider yourself reminded that the registration date for the Armstrong Century Ride for 2025 is Monday, April 7th, starting at 6 am .

Set your alarm as registration is usually filled by 8:00 am on registration day.
This year we will be holding Bob’s Ride, a memorial ride for Bob Perra, on Sunday, May 18th. The ride will be lead by Bob’s frequent riding partner and close friend, Michael Malkowski. Betty Perra will also be participating.
The route, Bob’s favourite, is a very scenic, rolling, out and back route of approximately 70 km to Mabel Lake from Lumby with no major hills. Those wanting a longer ride can start from Alexander’s Pub parking lot in Coldstream at 9 AM. Those wanting to do the 70 km ride will start at the Lumby shopping centre parking lot at 10 AM.
This Saturday, November 30th, we will be hiking in scenic Sutherland Hills Park plus Mission Creek Regional Park. The hike will start at 10 AM sharp from the main parking lot of Mission Creek Regional Park near the Robert Hobson Centre. Click here for the starting location.

On Saturday, November 23rd, we will be hiking the Glenmore Highlands, lead by Linda McGregor. The hike will start at 10 AM sharp at the end of Crosby Road in Glenmore. Many thanks to Rory and Janis, who have once again offered the use of their lovely home for our Christmas Party. I guess the damage from the last Beez event was not too severe. The party will take place on Wednesday, December 18th and start at 5:30 PM. As per usual, please bring an appy or dessert item along with your choice of beverage.
It’s rumoured that Larry and The Geezers will be performing.
