Start of the Beez season!

The sun is shining and it’s 17C as I write this … so it’s time to get on the bikes! The official start of the Beez rides is Sunday, March 22. Meet at 10am at the Bean Scene Headquarters on Dickson road. Length and duration will depend on temperatures and fitness levels and motivation 🙂 As always, these are NO-DROP rides and we regroup where necessary.

Tomorrow, March 15, looks to be wet but if it happens that the roads are dry and you’re up for an easy ride, come to the Bean Scene (again at 10am) and see who else is keen to get out. Or we enjoy a coffee together!

Early spring

It sure looks like we will have an early end to the ski season and an early start of the cycling season this year! Please let me know when you are starting the group rides so that I can post the details here. If anybody wants to start the Sunday rides (I would suggest at 10am from the Bean Scene on Dickson), please let me know. This coming weekend looks a bit wet but after that it should be sunny.

Also, get yourself and your bike ready for cycling! This article has some good reminders and tips

End of 2014 season …

It looks like we have finally reached freezing overnight temperatures and the 2014 cycling season might be over … If occasional Sundays are sunny and warm enough to ride, by all means, come to the Bean Scene at 10am on Sunday and see who else shows up! It might be warm enough for a short outing ….

Our Wednesday rides ceased a while ago when it got too dark too early to make it worthwhile.

See you all in 2015, or on the cross country ski trails!

NEW START TIME from October 19

Starting October 19, we will be leaving the Bean Scene Headquarters on Dickson Road at 10am!

Yes, it’s getting a bit cooler in the mornings. But with an extra layer, the riding is still wonderful and the fall colours amazing!!

Public Information Session October 18 – Please share your thoughts!

Still going strong …

We are continuing the Sunday morning rides throughout October … weather permitting! We are not known to “toughen it out” in the rain so if the roads are wet, it is more likely we will come for coffee and leave the bike at home. But on sunny fall mornings, we are keen to keep going until it gets too cold. Last Sunday we had a great ride!

Start at 9am from the Bean Scene on Dickson Road.

What you may need for fall riding is listed here.

The mistakes you should avoid are shown here.

And WHY WE RIDE.
