And the other group rides are on too …

West Kelowna Ride starting this Friday, April 8. Meet at 10am at Starbucks on Louie Drive.

For questions, contact Michael (see sidebar).

UPDATE: Now starting at 9am (from May 6, 2016).

Wednesday Ride starting next week, April 13. We are leaving at 5pm sharp from Kelowna Cycle. Leisurely 30-35km ride in East Kelowna.

Yes … Let’s start the season!

For those of you in town and ready to cycle, meet at 10 am at Bean Scene on Dickson this Sunday (April 3) for the season opener! Distance depending on who shows up and how strong the pull back to the coffee shop for the social catch-up is!

New Start Time!

10Starting this week (Sunday October 4), the Beez ride will leave the Bean Scene on Dickson Road at 10am!

There are still many weeks of great fall riding left before the snow hits!

UPDATE: Ride – Sunday

Because the temperatures are cooler tomorrow and most people prefer a 9am start, we will leave it at the regular start time of 9am for tomorrow, Sept 13. Will decide then where to go ….
Original post: If you’re interested in doing a longer ride tomorrow (Sunday Sept 13), meet at 8am at the Bean Scene on Dickson to repeat the Predator Ridge ride (about 88km, out and back to Predator from OK Centre, back through Glenmore). No highway. No drop.

New Sunday ride start time – and earlier Saturday option

Starting July 12, we will be leaving the Bean Scene on Dickson at 8am for the regular Sunday ride. We will keep it at this earlier start time until after the hot season! (Note: Scott and maybe some others can’t make 8am and will still start at 9am … So if 8am doesn’t work for you either, there will likely be some others starting at 9am).

Also, there will be an option to go for an earlier ride on Saturdays, leaving 8am from Kelowna Cycle (starting July 11). The regular KC ride will still leave at 9:15am.

Reminder of safety rules: Both rides are no-drop rides with regular stops to catch up. On both rides, participants are expected to ride single file only and not pass on the right.

A note from Mel Saari …

Hi cycling friends,

As I stare down yet another birthday I decided it’s time to take care of one of the big items that’s been on my bucket list for a while. Therefore I enrolled in the two-day Ride to Conquer Cancer, presented by Silver Wheaton and benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation.

Along with my team mates from the Cyclepath Cyclotrons and thousands of other cyclists, I will be making a 200 Km ride from Vancouver BC to Seattle WA on August 29-30, 2015. All proceeds will go to the BC Cancer Foundation to support cancer research, treatment, and services. BC Cancer Foundation is a leading comprehensive institution devoted to cancer research and care. The work they’re doing is cutting-edge and will help cancer patients world-wide.

As I’ve agreed to raise at least $2,500, please consider making a donation in support of my ride. You can use the link at the bottom of this email to visit my personal webpage to donate online or request a donation form. Any donations large & small would be most welcome. Canadian Tax receipts are available for all donations over $10.00.

Also if you know of anyone else who might be interested in supporting my ride please send them my website link.

Statistics show that over 45% of men and 40% of women will develop cancer in their lifetime, and 1 in 4 Canadians will die of cancer. That’s why I’m riding. To do something worthwhile in the battle against this difficult disease while I still can. I hope that you’ll share in this adventure by supporting my fundraising efforts.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Sincerely,
Mel Saari
