After another spectacular hike this past Sunday (guide: Bob), the ski season is slowly but surely starting. Our first day at Sovereign Lake on Saturday was fantastic!
The SEASON FINALE hike will be graciously hosted by Joyce. We will be meeting at the Bean Scene on Dickson at 9am again to have a quick coffee, heading out to Joyce’s house at 1922 Bartley Road (additional parking at the left turn road just before her house; do not park on Bartley Road) around 9:40am. Westsiders can meet us at her house at 10am.
The hike will go along McDougall Rim; distance to be determined. Views should be great again!
Joyce will be making her famous coffee for us afterwards, so please bring some cookies or other snacks, or any other beverage you prefer.
You guys are awesome!!!
We will likely be skiing on Saturday (Sovereign Lake is open!) but are interested in another hike on Sunday. Are you?
Meet at 9am at the Bean Scene again for a coffee, and decide from there where we’d like to go (Myra Bellevue, Rose Valley or Okanagan Mountain Park being options …). It will likely be a 2-2.5hr hike, and we’ll leave the coffee shop around 9:40am. Carpooling encouraged.
Let me know if you’d like to join!
Being out in the woods was great but our next hike will be slightly longer 🙂 However, working on bridges is good for team building 😉
Sunday’s hike (Nov 11) will not involve any creek crossings. We are planning to meet at 9am at the Bean Scene (Dickson), enjoy a coffee together, figure out carpooling and leave around 9:40am to either:
Both are great hikes with nice trails and should take about 2 hours … Spion Kop has great views while Myra has a multitude of trail options and loops.
Please let me know your preference, and I hope to see you there! Everybody is welcome, including dogs!!!
Since it is unlikely we will be cycling tomorrow morning, there’s another way to get some exercise (and even more social time) in before the party tomorrow afternoon!
Meet at 10am at the Bean Scene – our regular meeting place for Sunday rides.
Have a coffee and then head out for a nice hike …. The ground might be wet and there could even be some sprinkles but it will be nice on the trails anyways! The leaves are still colourful.
Start hiking the Angel Springs Trail at 11am, from the bottom up (park on McCulloch road, coordinates 49.830411, -119.367289).
Then rest before the party 🙂
Everyone is welcome!
Continuing our tradition of the end-of-cycling-season potluck, Shaun and Pam have generously offered their home to host all cyclists for this social occasion. Come and see your friends without helmets and lycra, share some food and drinks, and review this past season on the bike (and get excited for skiing!).
Spouses are of course invited, and it doesn’t matter how much or little you cycled this year – come and join us!
Date: Sunday, November 4, 2018; 4-7pm
Address: #6 2155 Horizon Drive, West Kelowna
Directions: At the first set of lights over the bridge turn right. This is Horizon Drive. 1 km up the road is 2155 Horizon Drive. It is a gated community and the gate will be open. We are house #6.
To bring: Appies/food and BYOB
As per discussions on Sunday and last Wednesday, we will be meeting for one last Wednesday ride of 2018, at 4pm, this Wednesday October 24. The forecast looks sunny but if the weather deteriorates, we will still meet for coffee at Blenz!
To take advantage of the warm sunny weather during the height of the day, we will be riding at 12noon from Kelowna Cycle this coming Saturday … Please join us!
Most likely about 40km down Lakeshore on the new pavement, followed by coffee.
