Long ride on Sept 11

From Michael; Saturday:

the forecast is for 30 kmp – 50 amp North wind in Penticton and Osoyoos. So, Bob and I won’t go on the ride out of Penticton tomorrow.

Original message: Sunday Sep. 11 we will go on the modified Ironman ride out of Penticton. The ride is about 145-150KM. Start time is 08:00am from the Skaha Lake park in Penticton. So far the weather forecast is ok hope it stays like this.
See you Sunday for this ride.

Ride around the lake!

Per Michael:
On Sunday Aug. 28th we are going on a ride about 145 – 150KM around the Lake. We will meet at 07:00am on Westside Rd. just off Hwy 97. The ride is along Westside Rd. (there is a Gas Station after about 45KM.)  to Hwy 97 to O’Keefe Ranch, right to Old Kamloops Rd. in to Vernon. From Vernon we can take the Hwy or Commonage Rd (very hilly) It will depend on how we feel at this time.
Hope to see you there.
Michael

Mable Lake Ride

Ride to Mable Lake Provincial Park on Sunday, July 31
depending on the distance people would like to do, there will be two starting points:one in Coldstream just outside of Vernon which will be about 120km round trip, start time 9am from the tennis courts on Kalamalka Road just before Postill Road. We will ride the highway to Lumby and take the turnoff to Mable Lake.

Lumby for a round trip of 70km, start time 10am (notice new start time!), meet at the grocery store parking lot on the rhs as you come into Lumby.

There should be limited traffic on the road to Mable Lake as this road just goes to farms and the park, as we are riding in the middle of the long weekend people travelling to and from the park should be minimal. About half way between Lumby and Mable Lake, BC Hydro has a rest stop by the river which is a good place to stop for a snack. There are no large hills on this ride.

There is a small store at the park, but only the basics there for supplies: water, snacks…

I would like to get an idea of who will be coming with average speed and starting point, please let me know at bbperra@shaw.ca . In the past we have had people interested but concerned they would not have someone of equivalent ability to ride with, I would like everyone to have a good time and be able to ride with someone.

Routes are below.

Sunday Ride August 9

We thought we should ride to Predator Ridge again this coming Sunday! Westside Road is still under construction so “Around the Lake” won’t work.

We will be leaving at 8am from the Bean Scene to do the roughly 84km ride (map here) through Glenmore, OK Centre and Carr’s Landing to the entrance to Predator Ridge Resort. We will then turn around and ride back down the hill, and take the ridge road to Winfield after passing through Carr’s Landing again (no highway).

Of course, coffee after …
